The first picture with the happy family!

Ryley had to spend about 18 hours in the NICU. He was breathing really fast which was a cause from the Magnesium that Ashley was on while in labor.

Since he was born on Christmas Eve we found it appropriate to have a santa hat on him on Christmas!

At about 11pm on Christmas Ryley was released from the NICU into our care.

Thank you for everyone that prayed for us. We really appreciate it as Ryley was born 4 weeks early! Daddy, Mommy and Ryley were discharged on Monday, December 27. All three are home, safe and healthy!

Donna's Birthday Dinner

For Chris Mom's Birthday we went to Fingers for some good food.

Thanksgiving Day is spent with Chris's Family at Ma-Ma-Ma's house.

When we got home we tried to get some pictures of ourselves. These are the best two!

And then we wanted pictures with the dogs........after many attempts this is the best of them all. We both had a lot of fun trying to get Ginger and Cinnamon to look at the camera. Maybe next year with a photographer we will be able to get the family picture we want!

Putting the Nursery Together

Turning the office into the nursery was a long task. We decided to work on the nursery over time so that it was ready for when Ryley got here.

The evening of our shower, we both stayed up till about 1:30 am putting everything that we got together. It was funny to be putting the crib together. For the both of us it finally felt real.

Ginger and Cinnamon decided that they wanted to help Chris put the crib together!

On November 6th, My sister hosted our baby shower. We were surrounded by friends and family. Thank you to all who came and celebrated this special time with Chris and I.

Annual Pumpkin Carving

Ashley's family has been doing the pumpkin carving for years. This year it was as Chris and Ashley's house.

Ginger and Cinnamon had no idea that they were in for a photo session. Ginger is about 6.5 years old and Cinnamon is about 3 years old.

It was a very nice ceremony and reception, only thing was that it was the hotest weekend in September.....so it was really hot!

Bill and Mare's Wedding

The Shorter Family made the trip to New Jersey for our Uncle's Wedding. Uncle Bill and Aunt Mare have been together for many years, Aunt Mare was diagnosed with Cancer earlier this year. As a last present to Aunt Mare, Uncle Bill married her on Sept 11, 2010

Kevin, Ashley, Becca, Chris and Derek all helped Kevin with the preparations of the food for the wedding. It was really nice to have all 5 of us working together like a family should.

Aunt Mare, unfortunately, lost her battle with Cancer and passed away on November 14th, 2010. You have always and will always be apart of the Shorter family.
